The Canadian Rockies are made of the Canadian segment of the North American Rocky Mountains range. It’s a common misconception to say all of the mountains in British Columbia are “The BC Rockies”, they are actually a separate mountain range which vary in age and geologically. The Rockies are part of the Canadian Cordillera, from the Interior Plains of Alberta to the Rocky Mountain Trench of British Columbia. The northern end is at the Liard River in northern British Columbia and the southern end borders the United States of America.
